Process
Product design is the process of converting intangible ideas into reality. It brings clarity and structure to complex problems. When done exceptionally well it brings an emotional connection. Using a toolkit of UX processes and best practices this is how I collaborate to bring work to life.
As I’ve grown as a designer and creator I discover and catalog resources that help me stay inspired and do my best work.

Clarity
The foundation of any good product starts with a clear vision. An ocean of ideas needs to be distilled into a cohesive direction. Inclusive products apply research into the needs of all your users – from varying demographics, backgrounds, and economic statuses. Building function, accessibility, and approachability into the product vision sets the path for a better product.
Areas of focus: research and discovery, KPI targets, established analytics and data, brainstorming, stakeholder input, user surveys and profiles, journey mapping, feature hypotheses
Structure
Clear organization of goals, research, and user perspectives allows the structure of the project to form. As the team continues to collaborate with stakeholders on research and development, the first prototypes and structural elements need to be developed. At this stage the product should be rendered at a medium fidelity and put in front of users to properly test hypotheses on features and function.
Areas of focus: Prototyping, user testing, feature development and validation, system architecture, messaging and visual communication, business alignment, review and iteration
Connection
The story isn’t complete until you can connect your concept to your audience. The function of the product has been tested and validated but the connection hasn’t fully been committed. This is the part of your product development that will define how to immerse the user in the story you are telling. Investing in the evolution of the product creates a living relationship with your user and will grow and take shape over continuous iteration.
Areas of focus: High-fidelity designs, brand expression, collaboration with development, deployment, user analysis and results, strategic evolution
